Customer Service
Leggett & Platt Home Furniture is a furniture component manufacturer that typically sells by the truckload to a finished furniture manufacturer. While we don’t interact directly with consumers in our day-to-day business, we do try to help where we can as a courtesy to the consumer. Frequently Asked Questions
Does Leggett & Platt make finished furniture?
No, we only make the mechanism (recliner, lift, sofa sleeper, etc.), sofa sleeper mattress, or other internal seating components. We do not make the frame, upholstery, etc. The name of the finished furniture manufacturer should be on the furniture; sometimes it is sewn under the ottoman/footrest or could be on a law label or elsewhere.
My furniture is under warranty. What do I need to do?
Contact the retailer you purchased it from or the finished furniture manufacturer to use an active warranty. We do not have record of when a purchase was made or what warranty the furniture manufacturer offers.
Where is your furniture sold?
We do not make finished furniture. Leggett & Platt is a leading global supplier of furniture components. If you are looking for furniture that uses our mechanisms, visit or call your local retailers and ask them which of their furniture brands use a Leggett & Platt mechanism.
If you are visiting a store in person, you will see a Leggett & Platt caution sticker on the mechanism that will identify it as being a Leggett product. View our Mechanism Label Identification to see where this is located.
Can I replace a different brand mechanism with a Leggett & Platt mechanism?
Each mechanism can have different mounting due to its specific function, etc. Our suggestion is to replace your mechanism with exactly what you have to ensure it will work exactly how the furniture was built to work.
My mechanism is 20+ years old and needs to be replaced. What do I do?
Unfortunately, we may not always continue to produce older mechanisms as we innovate to give more functionality and comfort based on new technology. However, you can supply us the model number and we will research to see if it is a product we still manufacture.
